Hwange National park is situated about 3 hours north of Bulawayo. A beautiful area, with most of the exotic animals such as: Cheetah, Loins, Giraffes, Elephants, Hippos, Zebras and even Rhinos. We came there at the end of the rainy season, so the scenery was very green, which made it hard to spot the animals. But, seeing Hwange at this time of year is definately an experience as well.
Driving around the park, trying to spot one of the "big five", we bumped into this one, just as beautiful and intricate as any other animal we spotted along our way. We got up at 5 am to get to one of the main platforms where there was a little lake where the monkeys, hippos, zebras, impallas, and giraffes drinking water, playing and watching the sunrise before the sun got to strong and they went off to hide in the shadows of the trees. A truly wonderful sight.
On safari out in the open air.
